America the Beautiful

Happy Monday, my peeps!  For those of you who have an extra day off work today, I hope you have a chance to use a part of it for some crafty time :-)

It's challenge time again at Scrap It With a Song!  Our song this week is "America the Beautiful."  Now, for those of you who are from all over the globe, never fear-- there are all kinds of things to pull from in this song!

My card is based off of the line about "purple mountains majesty."  I used chalks to draw the mountains and the sun, then I went over a few parts with an eraser to add some more detail.  I printed "Beautiful" on a sheet of acetate and mounted it over the drawing.  The picture isn't great... the chalks are pretty light and hard for the camera to really pick up, but you get the idea ;-)
